Verhaalen says, "This song is dedicated to the friends I grew up with. Leaving 'Em in My Twenties
Hailey released "Leaving 'Em in My Twenties" a week before her 30th birthday. This single tributes her twenties and wholeheartedly describes what she plans to leave behind when she enters her thirties.
"My twenties, which were full of such incredible highs, were also full of growing pains and record lows. As I grew closer to thirty, I started to think about all of the limiting beliefs and painful memories I'd been clinging onto, and how that long list of things was only bringing me down and not allowing me to grow in the ways I wanted to as a person. I wrote this song as a way to put into words what I want to work on letting go of. I also consider it a promise to myself that I'll be patient with me as I work on actually letting go of them" - Hailey Verhaalen

Words in My Mouth
"Before meeting my husband, I had a hard time authentically writing love lyrics. I had always resonated more with the sad or sassy songs I'd write. Once I met him, I was able to dig to the actual bottom of my heart and write some very true to my story love lyrics. I feel like that shines through in this song." - Hailey Verhaalen
Hailey released "Words in My Mouth" the day before her wedding.

Someday When This is Over
“Someday When This is Over,” released in May 2020, shows off Hailey's sentimental side – which she said would be a trend with her next several singles. “The scary times we’re living in have been weighing on us all, and I had finally gotten to my breaking point emotionally. In moments like that, I always turn to music to heal. I wanted to remind everyone, including myself, that we WILL get through this together, and we have to stay strong for those around us, especially the younger generations.”

Christmas in My Mind
"Christmas in My Mind" is Hailey's second original Christmas song out on streaming platforms. Verhaalen says, "The inspiration for this song came on the day I had to make the hard call not to go home for Christmas due to the pandemic. 2020 was the first year of my life I wouldn't be able to spend Christmas with family, and it made me very emotional. Like any other memorable emotion, I wanted to capture it in a song so I could put language to how I was feeling and also have something to remember it by when looking back on that tough year! It is a bitter sweet song that I hope people can feel whatever it is they need to about the holiday season through listening to it"

How I Make a Livin'
Hailey's September 2021 "feel good" single "How I Make a Livin' " speaks to her belief that money can't buy happiness, but making memories can. "I love a good feel good song, and this one made me so happy to write! It does the same whenever I sing or listen to it, and I can only hope my listeners can relate to the belief that as long as we are gifted another day each morning, we might as well make it worth remembering . Especially if it means appreciating and enjoying the little things a little more than yesterday!"
